HOW TO GET BITCOINS: BUYING BITCOINS

Now that you’ve got your Bitcoin wallet(s) installed and set up, it’s time to buy some bitcoins. There are three popular ways you can do this: ATMs, Peer-to-Peer, and Exchanges.

ATMs

ATMs are a convenient, anonymous way of purchasing bitcoins, but they usually come with a markup—the ATM operator’s commission.

Exchanges

Exchanges will usually require some form(s) of personal identification, but they allow you to purchase quickly, and usually cost the least.

Peer-to-Peer

Purchasing from other individuals. Sites like LocalBitcoins.com allow you to find buyers and sellers in your local area. ID isn’t required, but it’s harder to buy without providing it.
